Hannelore has been carving wooden items in these mountains for the better part of 8 years. There have always been items that made her feel at home, no matter what stage of life she was in. Of these constants were her mother's wooden spoons, and they inspired her to learn to make them. Over time, she discovered that carving is very similar to life. Each year we transform a little in hopes for betterment of ourselves, and similarly, with each chip carved, the wood is more polished and succinct than before.

Join us at the Wild Goods headquarters 30 minutes outside of Asheville, NC with Hannelore Berken.

In this class, we'll go out and learn about several different plants that we can use, gather them, and then make the salve. Each participant will return home with their own jar of first aid salve and the knowledge to make more!
Hannelore has been wildcrafting in her daily life since she was a child, growing up in NE Ohio. It all began with barefoot stomping berries in her yard to make jam, and since then she has been taught by various herbalists and naturalists in Ohio, Oregon, and right here in Asheville to hone in on safely and gently incorporating these natural methods into her life and believes that they should be shared with all who yearn to know.
