Just because a truffle is harvested in Appalachia, doesn't make it an Appalachian truffle - If you are looking for the species Tuber canaliculatum, keep looking! Most people hunting these in the wild are using their finds to inoculate truffle trees for cultivation. 

We actually have been finding T. can this 2024 truffle season, but haven't quite dialed in our hunting to have  steady quantity available yet. 

We hope to find or perhaps grow  more productive  T. can patches ourselves, but in the meantime have been busy with hunting the  Blue Ridge Truffle - Imaia gigantea. This truffle is also referred to as an Appalachian truffle, or Giant Imai in some field guides and notes on N. American truffles

The Tuber Canaliculatum will hopefully soon will be coming to market in much greater quantities with orchards soon reaching production age,
